Delhi MLA Anil Jha, Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil Among Six Injured in Car Crash Near ITO

New Delhi: Delhi’s Kirari MLA Anil Jha and Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil were among six people who sustained minor injuries after two cars collided near the ITO area of central Delhi on Saturday night.

According to the information presented in the report, the accident occurred at around 9:30 pm near the PWD Office in the I.P. Estate area. The vehicle carrying the two legislators was travelling through the ITO crossing when it collided with another car coming from the opposite direction.

The second vehicle was reportedly being driven by a man who was travelling with his wife and two minor children. All six occupants of the two vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Injured Shifted to LNJP Hospital

Following the collision, the injured occupants were taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for medical examination and treatment. Their condition was reported to be stable, with the injuries described as minor.

Fire brigade personnel also reached the accident site and assisted in clearing the damaged vehicles from the road. The collision temporarily affected traffic movement in the busy ITO area.

Police Investigating Cause of Collision

Police officials are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash. According to the report, investigators are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and recording statements from eyewitnesses to establish the sequence of events and determine the cause of the collision.

No final conclusion regarding responsibility for the accident has been reported, and the matter remains under investigation.

The ITO crossing is one of central Delhi’s busiest traffic intersections, connecting important routes including Ring Road and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. Heavy traffic in the area can make the junction particularly congested, especially during peak hours.
