working in coordination with Andhra Pradesh Police, arrested Shaik Sadiq Khan, 26, a resident of Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, in connection with a sensitive case registered at Sarpavaram Police Station in Kakinada district.
According to the information presented in the report, Andhra Pradesh Police had been searching for the accused during their investigation. Inputs regarding his presence in Meerut were subsequently shared with local police, following
which the Meerut SWAT team and Andhra Pradesh Police conducted a joint operation and apprehended him.
Accused Produced Before Magistrate
Following the arrest, Sadiq Khan was produced before a magistrate in Meerut. After the required legal procedure and obtaining a transit warrant, he was handed over to the Sarpavaram Police for further investigation and legal proceedings in Andhra Pradesh.

What Is the Case About?
The case relates to the deaths of Panchayat Raj Assistant Engineer Thillapudi Nookaraju, his wife and daughter, who were alleged to have jumped into the Godavari River near Rajamahendravaram. According to the report, a 10-year-old boy accompanying the family survived the incident.
The report states that letters allegedly recovered during the investigation contained serious accusations against Sadiq Khan, including allegations of prolonged harassment, blackmail and mental torture. Allegations concerning financial and property-related matters have also reportedly formed part of the investigation.
A case was subsequently registered at Sarpavaram Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Inter-State Police Cooperation
According to the report, information about the accused being present in Meerut led to coordination between Meerut Police and Andhra Pradesh Police. The joint operation resulted in his arrest, production before the court and transfer to Andhra Pradesh Police.
Meerut Police described the operation as an example of cooperation between police agencies across state boundaries in pursuing accused persons wanted in serious criminal investigations.
The allegations against the accused remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings. An arrest or accusation does not by itself establish guilt, which must be determined by a competent court on the basis of evidence and applicable law.
